Feminine, Elegant, World traveler, Sophisticated, Carmela. Carmela is timeless silhouettes, using only the finest and richest yarns. Carmela was born out of my life long love for fashion, old and new, and for wearable clothing. Carmela is today´s smart and sophisticated woman who looks for garments that are unique which work for everyday living, with a sense of style.

As an American born and raised, I came to live in Peru in the early 1990´s. Upon my arrival, I was fascinated by the culture and the use of colors in the ethnic wardrobes. In my travels throughout the country, I came across communities, who today, still hand knit and weave the handcraft done many centuries ago by their ancestors. Inspired by these communities and their ability to create such beautiful works by hand, together with the world´s best quality pima cotton and alpaca grown in Peru, was the motivation to start Carmela.
